Prince of Park City: New Video Game Lets You Slash Through HOA Rules and Collect Building Permits

In a move that has left both gamers and Park City locals scratching their heads, billionaire tech mogul Matthew Prince has announced the development of a new video game titled Prince of Park City. The game, inspired by the classic Prince of Persia series, promises to blend high-stakes platforming with the unique challenges of navigating Park City’s historic Main Street.

Players will assume the role of Prince himself, leaping over zoning ordinances, dodging disgruntled neighbors, and collecting building permits to construct the ultimate mountainside mansion. Special power-ups include “Legal Loophole Leap” and “Gondola Glide,” allowing the Prince to bypass municipal red tape and soar over community opposition.

The game’s antagonist, a character named “Eric the Enforcer,” bears a striking resemblance to Prince’s real-life neighbor, Eric Hermann, who has been embroiled in a legal dispute with Prince over proposed home expansions and the behavior of Hermann’s Bernese Mountain dogs, Sasha and Mocha . In the game, players must avoid the dogs’ surprise attacks, which can delay construction progress and decrease public approval ratings.

While the game’s release date has yet to be announced, early beta testers report a challenging experience that combines urban planning strategy with action-adventure elements. Prince has hinted at future downloadable content, including a level where players can attempt to purchase Park City Mountain Resort from Vail Resorts, mirroring his real-life ambitions .

Critics are divided on the game’s concept. Some praise its innovative approach to simulating the complexities of local governance and property development, while others question the tastefulness of turning ongoing community disputes into entertainment. Regardless, Prince of Park City is poised to become one of the most talked-about game releases in the Wasatch Back region.

What I love best about Park City is that there are so many businesses that need publicity. It’s a great relationship. You pay me enough money and you never know when I might write a story on you.
